My name is Lindsey Pruitt. I grew up in The Colony, Texas and graduated early from The Colony High School. I went to McMurry University in Abilene, Texas for two years and swam on their conference champion swim team both years that I attended. I transferred to Texas Woman’s University and finished my bachelor’s degree. I have worked a wide variety of jobs while putting myself through school. I have been a lifeguard, swim instructor, swim team coach, waitress, bartender, and worked at a software company. I went to law school at Texas Wesleyan School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law) and was on the Dean’s List for 3 of my 6 semesters there. I also earned my mediation certificate and worked in my law school’s law clinic (handling family law and Social Security cases for low-income families). I graduated Law School and became a licensed attorney in 2008.
After law school I began practicing Family Law and Civil Law at a firm in Plano. After a few years, I transitioned to a law firm with a mix of Family Law and Criminal Defense and ran their Family Law department. I have been doing both Family Law and Criminal Law ever since. On the family law side, I handle divorces, child custody, CPS cases, and child support court. On the criminal defense side, I handle felony and misdemeanor cases; everything from first degree felonies down to class c traffic tickets. I also have experience in Juvenile Law, which is a mix of Criminal Law and Family Law.
I pride myself in evaluating a case for its strengths and weaknesses and providing my clients with a realistic view of their options. This allows my clients to make an informed choice about their own cases and their own lives.
